John Baker "Tracker" Organ
The organ had a long journey before it was installed at Trinity in 1860. It was partially made in England, then shipped to Charleston where the noted craftsman, John Baker, assembled it. An ox-cart carried it the long, rough overload road to Abbeville. It is a "tracker" organ and a bit cranky with age - but loving hands can coax cear, sweet music from it to accompany services to this day. It may be the only John Baker Organ still in regular use.
